Kenny Akins of Williamsburg, Kentucky departed this life on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at his home. He was 62 years, 10 months and 21 days of age. He was born on August 21, 1949 in Hazard, Kentucky to the late Edward Akins and Joie Reynolds Akins. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Akins. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
He is survived by mother, Joie Reynolds Akins of Williamsburg, Kentucky; three brothers, Rev. Dana Akins (Charlotte) of London, Kentucky, Gary Akins (Janie) of London, Kentucky and Kerry Akins (Tammy) of Somerset, Kentucky; two sons, Darrell Wayne Akins and Kenny Brian Akins (Connie) all of Florence, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Brittany, Ashley, Nathan and Zadie; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
The Funeral Service will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 14, 2012 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Partin officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Akins Cemetery on Bee Creak Road in Corbin, Kentucky.
