Comrade D.J. Reber, who has been in feeble health for months, died at his home in Augusta, Sunday morning, at 7 o'clock. The deceased, who has lived in Augusta and Bruno township for thirty years, was an active citizen, an intelligent man and a loyal old comrade. He was postmaster of Andover for a number of years. He leaves a wife; a daughter, Mrs. Whitehead, of Rich Hill, Mo.; a second daughter, Mrs. Lena Floy Newland; and a son, L.C. Reber, of Chicago. Funeral from the Baptist church, Augusta, Tuesday at 10 o'clock. The deceased was an ex-union soldier and did good service. We regret his death, are sorry that so many of our old comrades are going down to the border land of the shoreless river, to cross to the other side. Peace to his ashes.
