Linda Lou Hendrick Dickens, 69, of Naoma, went home to be with her Heavenly Father Wednesday, September 19, 2012, after a long illness.

She was a retired cook of the Raleigh County Board of Education and a member of the Naoma Freewill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Tamela "Tammy" Dickens and parents, Grover and Juanita Hendrick, and a brother, Ernest Hendrick.

She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years Billy Gene Dickens and three daughters, Lisa Ann Stover of Shady Spring, Linda "Christine" and husband, Victor Rhodes, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Billie Jo and husband, Mark Skaggs, of Naoma, W.Va., three special granddaughters, Stephanie and husband, Mike Lipford, of Artie, WV, Ellie and Destiny Rhodes of Cleveland, Ohio, also three special grandsons, Gregory and wife Rebba Stover of Artie, W.Va., Jonathan and Michael Rhodes of Cleveland, Ohio, eight very special great-grandchildren, Bethany, Brooke, Isaac, Karlie, Draven, Lillie, Mikenley and Layla.

She is also survived by a very special sister, Rose Ann and husband, Roger Elkins, of Beckley, and two brothers, George and wife, Blondie, of Arnett, and Willie and wife, Helen Hendrick, of Durban, W.Va., and many special nieces, nephews and friends.

Service will be 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at the Naoma Freewill Baptist Church, Naoma, with the Revs. David Cook and Larry Kinder officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.

Pallbearers will be Mike Lipford, Jonathan Rhodes, Victor Rhodes, Mark Skaggs, Gregory Stover, Steve Stover. Honorable mention pallbearers will be Danny Dickens, Jerry Dickens and Ricky Dickens.

Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville, is entrusted with the arrangements for the Dickens family.
