Bernell Wrigley, 83, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, peacefully passed away on June 29 in his home from causes incident to age.

Born October 31, 1913 in View, Idaho to Alexander and Olive Wrigley.

Bernell married his childhood sweetheart and lifelong companion, Eva Stanger, on July 12, 1933 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Their family numbers 130 children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bernell graduated from Southern Idaho College of Education at age 19 when he became principal and teacher of View Elementary School.

From there he moved to Malad, Idaho, as a school administrator where he was taken under the wing of Karl G. Maeser, prominent Idaho educator and grandson of the founder of BYU.

Bernell later became one of the youngest district superintendents in the country when he took the position as Superintendent of Rockland Valley School District at the age of 26.

His advanced degrees were received from Utah State University.

He then returned to Burley, Idaho, as Cassia County Superintendent until 1958 when he transferred to Davis County, Utah, as assistant superintendent to Harold Holt.

He was then appointed Davis County Superintendent in 1966 until his retirement in 1979.

Leadership and service experience include: President of the Snake River Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Silver Beaver Award for Scouting, President of the Utah Society of School Superintendents, Phi Delta Kappa Honorary Fraternity, Bishop of the Rockland LDS Ward, Bishop of the Bountiful 18th Ward, Chairman of the Executive Committee for Utah Network for Instructional Television, Kiwanis Club President, and Rotary Club President.

He especially enjoyed gardening and visiting with passers-by as evidenced by the couple's frequent recognition for the Bountiful Beautification Award.

Bernell is survived by his wife, Eva Stanger, six of his seven children and spouses, Louise and Dr. J.R. Toolson, Carlsbad, California; Karl and Barbara Wrigley, Provo; Barbara (Wrigley) Coffin, Mesa, Arizona; Carol and Dr. D. Eugene Thorne, Provo; Marilyn and Dr. David H. Uffens, Redmond, Washington; Elaine and Wally Hawkins, Bountiful; Joyce and Dan Jones, Parker, Colorado. He is also survived by his sister, Dora Heward, Burley, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his son, Marvin, three grandchildren, three brothers, and sister.

Funeral services will be Thursday, July 3, at 11 a.m. at the Bountiful 18th Ward Chapel, 165 So. 1000 East, Bountiful.

Friends and family may call Wednesday, July 2, from 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 No. Main or from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the services.

Interment will follow in the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful
