ACUSHNET MA - Nancy (Firby) Medlock, 72, of Acushnet, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2015 at home. She was the wife of the late William E. Medlock. Born in Providence RI, a daughter of the late Henry and Annie (Nelson) Firby, she had resided in Greenwood SC, for many years before moving to Acushnet in 1971. Nancy was educated in North Augusta SC, and attended Graceland College in Lamoni IA. She had worked as a certified sterile processor at Parkwood and St. Luke's Hospitals for over 30 years until her retirement. She previously worked as an operating room technician in Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood SC. Nancy enjoyed watching the Patriots and Red Sox, enjoyed sewing and loved animals. She and her late husband enjoyed motorcycle rides, camping and trips to Newport. She was very devoted to her loving family. Her family includes a daughter, Jerry-Ann Medlock and son-in-law William Waller of Acushnet; a sister, Betsy Firby of Onset; three grandchildren, Mandy, Brent and Tyler Chase of Columbus GA; two sisters-in-law, Irma Medlock of Greenwood and Marianne Lyons of WA; an uncle, Arthur Nelson of Coventry RI; and many cousins.
