COWARD -- SPC Robert Lee "Robbie" Ferguson, Jr., 24, died Friday, March 13, 2015, in Ridgeway, SC.SPC Ferguson was born in Charleston, SC on July 23, 1990, a son of Robert Lee Ferguson, Sr. and the late Tammy Lynn Elliott Ferguson. He was a graduate of Wando High School, Mt. Pleasant. SPC Ferguson was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in Afghanistan and received numerous Medals during his time served including, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M Device and Nato Medal. Surviving are his father, Robert Lee Ferguson, Sr. of Coward; sister, Frances Nicole Ferguson of Coward; brother, T. J. (Lezlie) Elliott of Florence; nephew, Jack Elliott of Florence; and uncle, David Christmas of Coward. SPC Ferguson was preceded in death by his mother, Tammy Lynn Elliott Ferguson; maternal grandparents, Richard James Elliott and Frances Helen Elliott; and paternal grandparents, Lewis Edward Ferguson and Mable Lynn Ferguson. Funeral services will be at 1:00 P. M., Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton. Burial, with Full Military Honors, will be at Florence National Cemetery, Florence. The family will receive friends from 6:00 8:00 P. M., Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Carolina Funeral Home, 215 E. Hwy. 378 Bypass, Scranton, SC.
