TUSCALOOSA | Floyd Jackson, age 64, of Tuscaloosa, died Saturday, March 14, 2015 at home. Services will be 12 noon on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Matthew Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Oak Memorial Park with The Historical Van Hoose & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Services directing. Visitation will be 12 noon to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2015. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Willie and Mrs. Ethel Mae Jackson; and son, Derrek Floyd Jackson.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Jackson of Tuscaloosa; daughter, Shirita R. Jackson of Northport; son, Kelvin Howard of Birmingham; sisters, Evelyn Crawford and Arthur Mae Caddell of Tuscaloosa; brother, Willie Davis of Indianapolis, Ill.; grandchildren, Brandi of Northport, Brian, Jalen, Derreka, all of Tuscaloosa, LaBradford and Madelyn of Birmingham; stepsons, Anthony Gee of Tuscaloosa, and Eric Gee of Atlanta, Ga.; and stepdaughters, Janet and DeEltra Gee of Tuscaloosa.
Mr. Floyd Jackson was born May 26, 1950 in Tuscaloosa, Ala. He graduated from Druid High School in 1968. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church since childhood. He was employed at Phifer Wire Products for more than 40 years. Floyd was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a great brother and uncle.
