Martha Elizabeth Watts, born May 14, 1866 in Benton County, Arkansas.
Passed from this life Nov. 22, 1938, at the age of 72 years, 6 months, and 14 days. Miss Watts was married to John E. McCarty, April 25, 1890 in Pickins County, Indian Territory.
To this union eight children born, one has preceded her in death.
She leaves to mourn her going, her husband, John McCarty, Erick, Lee McCarty, El Paso, Texas; Mrs. Mamie McCarty, Breckenridge, Colo; Henry McCarty, Erick, Okla; Walter McCarty, Plainview, Texas; Mrs. Ella Emans, Springfield, Colo; Mrs. Mary Baker, Erick, Okla; Johnny McCarty, Erick, Okla; and sister Mrs. Sarah Bailey, and one brother, Willie Watts, both of Pernell, Oklahoma, who were unable to be here; two grandchilddren of the deceased daughter, Elmo Swafford, Placerville, Calif; Mrs, John Dean Glantz, Shattuck, Okla; 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Also a host of friends who mourn the passing of their friend.
Sister McCarty united with the Church of Christ in 1890, and in April 1931 under minister Rev. A. J. Hamilton, Sister McCarty united with Erick Methodist Church, where she remained a loyal member to the hour of here death.
She was a devoted wife, a loving friend, a kind neighbor, and a wonderful and sacrificial mother.
