MAYES, A. B.
(21 Feb 1918, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK):
A. B. infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Mayes, had that morning passed into the great beyond.
While the little fellow had been troubled with numerous ills for the past month he was taken seriously worse but a few hours before his death. All that medical skill and loving relatives and friends could do was done but it was of no avail, and he passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday morning.
Nearly all Erick knew and loved this remarkably bright and beautiful baby. He has at all times been large for his age, the picture of perfect health, and of most lovable disposition.
The funeral services were conducted at the Christian Church, Monday, the 18th at 2:30 p.m., and he was laid away to rest in the Erick cemetery immediately following.
The Editor together with a host of friends share with the bereaved parents the best we can a part of their sorrow. "Death loves a shining mark."
