Florist for 40 Years Succumbs in Hospital

Charles Ketler, 81, of 1203 South Main Street, Lee Park, Hanover Township, a florist at that address for 40 years, died Saturday night in General Hospital, where he was admitted on April 26.

A resident of Wyoming Valley for 60 years, deceased was born at Brooklyn, son of the late Philip and Ester Ketler. He was employed by Wilkes-Barre Transit Company for 18 years before going into the floral business.

He was a member of Dr. Kistler's Men's Bible Class.

Surviving are his wife, the former Elizabeth Carr of Liberty, N.Y.; a daughter, Mrs. Stanley Vauken, Shickshinny; three stepchildren, Mrs. Pearl Lawson, Kearny, N.J.; Mrs. Clarence Smith, Gloucester, N.J.; Mrs. Regina H. Evans, Wilkes-Barre; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be held from the home Tuesday with the Rev. Rudolph Libeck of Baptist Tabernacle officiating, assisted by Rev. George Snyder of Ashley Methodist Church.
