- A funeral service for Charlie Clark Welch, 88, will be held 12 noon Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Rose-Neath’s Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Reverend John Harp. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service Thursday, March 19, 2015.

Charlie was born on February 27, 1927 to Spurgeon and Zula Welch in Fairbanks, LA. He passed away on March 17, 2015 in Shreveport, LA. He served in the US Navy, and he also worked for International Paper in Bastrop, LA over 40 years. He was a Master Mason and a Shriner. He was an active member and deacon at Brookwood Baptist Church, Shreveport, LA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Barbara S. Welch, daughter, Beverly Ann Welch, and brother, Rufus Welch. He is survived by his brother, Spurgeon Welch, Jr., sisters, Earline Jones, Anita Roscoe, Mary Weston and husband, Don, brother-in-law, James Scirratt, and wife, Vera, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honoring him as pallbearers are Glen Roscoe, Jr., Jim Graham, Bobby Graham, Marty Scirratt, Ricky Collins and Mitchell Bailey. Honorary pallbearers will be Tuesday Morning Prayer group
