Glen Dale Murphy, age 67, of Pigeon Forge, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012. Mr. Murphy was a Christian, West Virginia coal miner, fisherman, and a friend to everyone. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Marjorie Murphy, and six brothers. He is survived by his wife, Mary Murphy; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Angie Murphy; daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Richard Craig, and Debra and Brian Campbell; six grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Ed (Boots) and Carol Murphy; sisters and brothers-in-law, June Phillips, Debra Lynn Murphy, Wilma and Dean Accord, and Nina and Roscoe Plymale; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Mary Hopkins; special friends, Jim and Sharon Opett, Jay and Doris Spain, Lois Sutton, Rayford White, The Kingdom Heirs, and the Apple Barn Family. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Covenant Hospice (in memory of Mr. Glen Murphy), c/o Ft. Sanders Foundation, 280 Ft. Sanders West Blvd, Suite 100, Knoxville, TN 37922. Pallbearers will be members of the Kingdom Heirs, honorary pallbearers will be, Jim Opett, Rayford White, and Jay Spain. Funeral service 1 PM Wednesday in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin White officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery.
