Vernon T. Sublett was born March 24, 1918 in Claude , Texas to John and Callie (Neill) Sublett.

He departed this life on February 4, 2008, in Tulsa at the age of 89 years 10 months and 11 days.

Vernon had lived in Chouteau for about the last 30 years. He was a Pharmaceutical Rep for E.I. Lilly Pharmaceuticals for several years and then went to work at Wal Mart as a Pharmacy Manager for about 15 years.

He had served as President of the Chouteau Lions Club. Vernon was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was a member of the United Methodist Men.

He was married to Rosa Mae (Littlefield) McArtor on April 11, 1975 in Muskogee. Vernon was very much a people person and never met a stranger. He enjoyed watching sporting events on TV and liked the relaxation he got out of mowing the yard. His pride and joy were all his grandchildren.

Vernon is survived by his wife Rosa Mae of the home, daughter June Dearing and husband Ellis of Chouteau, daughter Janet Fleak of Muskogee, son Eddie McArtor and wife Annette of Nowata, brother Buster Sublett and wife Bonnie of Hereford, Texas, sister Kate Moore (who raised Vernon after their parents passed away) of Amarillo, Texas, grandchildren Steve and Tami Fleak of Sapulpa, Gina and Mike Daugherty of Fayetteville, Kristi and Charlie Olzanski of Ft. Gibson, Micha and Kendall Fleak of Muskogee, Jamee and John Winzenberg of Sand Springs, great-grandchildren Paden and Josh Fleak, Blake, Drew and Trey Daugherty, Caleb and Carter Olzanski, Shelbie and Savanna Winzenberg of Sand Springs.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters.
