Derek Lamar Bell, 32, of Comer, died Sunday, March 15, 2015. Born in Athens, he was the son of Tony Lamar & Deborah Lynn Bell. He was a great father, son, & brother who loved his family & he was always there for anyone who needed him. Derek was a member of Collier Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Emory and Carine Brown; grandmother, Shirley Bell; uncle, Douglas Brown; & cousin, Dwayne Brown. Survivors in addition to his parents include his children, Devin, Macy and Brynlee; his girlfriend, Kayla Welborn; one brother, Shane Bell; grandfather, Ralph Bell; & numerous aunts, uncles & cousins. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 2 PM at Collier Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Smith & Rev. Eric Bunch officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7 until 9 PM at Lord and Stephens, East. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Collier Baptist Church, 115 Collier Church Road, Comer, Georgia 30629. Lord & Stephens, Danielsville is in charge of arrangements.
