Carl Edward Harrison, Sr., 83, of Moncks Corner, SC, a retired assistant fire chief at Charleston Air Force Base, died Monday afternoon at his residence.

His funeral will be 11:00 AM Thursday morning, March 19, 2015, in the CHAPEL OF DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER. Interment will follow in Berkeley Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday evening.

Mr. Harrison was born May 24, 1931, in Caledonia, MS, a son of Claude D. Harrison and Rosie Reaves Harrison. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Moncks Corner, a Mason, and a US Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Harrison was a member of the Charleston Air Force Base Aero Club, and a former member of the Hagin Hunt Club. He was an all-around outdoorsman who enjoyed bass fishing, hunting deer and quail, and gardening. Mr. Harrison was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.

Surviving are, his wife, Frances Davidson Harrison; two daughters, Suzy H. Powell and her husband, Jay, and Vicki H. Barnes and her husband, Bruce, all of Moncks Corner; three sons, Carl F. Harrison and his wife, Starleen, David J. Harrison and his wife, Lori, and Christopher M. Harrison and his wife, Alison; fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
