Stanley Earl Barnes, 87, of Highway 599, Jeffersonville, Kentucky passed away Monday, March 16, 2015 at the St. Joseph-Mt. Sterling Hospital. He was born in Montgomery County, Kentucky on May 4, 1927 the son of the late Howard and Helen Willoughby Barnes. He was WW II veteran having served in the US Navy, a member of the Mt. Sterling Christian Assembly of God, an avid hunter, and a retired heavy equipment operator for Ensor Excavating.

He is survived by his wife; three sons; two daughters; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be 1 PM, Friday, March 20, 2015 at the Mt. Sterling Christian Assembly of God, 1834 Owingsville Road, Mt. Sterling, KY 40353 with Rev. Scott Barnes officiating and burial following in the Martin & Willoughby Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday evening from 5 PM – 8 PM at the Mt. Sterling Christian Assembly of God Church. Pallbearers will be Tyson Barnes, Shayne Barnes, Steven Barnes, Bradley Barnes, Timothy Donaldson, Nathan Meade, Chip Culton and Aaron Noel. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Cockrell, Allen Willoughby, Pete Willoughby, Frankie Becraft, Allen Justice, Johnny Kennon and Earl Johnson. Military rites will be performed by American Legion Post # 22. Taul Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.
