Richard "Dick" Sturgeon, 89, of Fort Myers Beach, FL passed peacefully on March 8, 2015. The youngest son of Zean and Hazel Agnes Upton, he was born on November 5, 1925 near Oakland City, IN. Rich served in the Army Air Corp then received an MA in Education.

An industrial arts teacher for 34 years, he retired from Indianapolis, IN. He was also a barber, an insurance and real estate agent. Rich was an auto race fan and an official timer for the Indy 500. He sang barbershop 62 years as a tenor; recorded and toured the mid-west with The Hartsmen, co-directed the Naples Neapolitans and was a charter member of the Cape Chorale.

Rich loved to travel and saw fifty US states, Central America, Mexico, Europe. He fished Alaska and Canada.

He is survived by his wife, Alice, daughters, Tammy Jones (Randall) and Julie Sturgeon, grandchildren, Bonita, Brandon and Jennifer, great grandson, Danny and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents and siblings, James, Curt and Cleatis.
