She was born February 21, 1924, in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, the daughter of Grant Charles and Mary Clarice Clyde Olsen. She married Theodore A. Dase on Dec. 29, 1948. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.
Betty graduated from Wasatch Academy and Brigham Young University. She later went on to complete her masters degree in special education. She was a teacher in Provo District for three years, North Sanpete District for 32 years, and was a professor at Snow College for five years. She also taught adult education. Member of Lalcos Club, member of the Utah Education Association, member of the LDS Church, and served on Mt. Pleasant Library Board. Betty loved to read, crochet, do needle work, and loved the cedar hills. She loved the Sanpete Valley and her time with the "Golden Girls". Her greatest love was teaching, especially her family.
She is survived by daughters, Nancy Dase Burnside and Jody D. Bear; son, William Charles Dase; sister, Alene Avery; brother, Phil G. Olsen; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband and one grandson.
Funeral services will be held October 15, 1997, 12 noon in the Mt. Pleasant 4th Ward Chapel. Friends and family may call Tuesday, October 14, 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday, October 15, 10:45-11:45 a.m. at Ursenbach Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to American Cancer Society and/or Snow College Student Support Services.
