Mrs. Tate was a native of Marshall County, Tennessee and daughter of the late Felix and Clara May Ealy Waggoner. She was a homemaker and member of the Ostella Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Louis Tate, son, Charles Ray Tate, sister, Mattie Lee Filberth, and grandson, Robert Louis Tate. She is survived by two daughters, Sylvia (Floyd) Whitsett and Hilda (Buddy) Tankersley, and two sons, Robert L. (Joyce) Tate and Joe Frank Tate all of Lewisburg , four grandchildren, Sherry (Ken) Shrum, Jennie (Roger) Carroll, Michael (Carol) Tankersley, and Christopher (Daphne) Whitsett, seven great grandchildren and daughter-in-law, Glenda Tate.
Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Short Cemetery at Spring Place.
The family will be at London Funeral Home Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. for visitation.
