Linda Maria Stakes Kilpatrick, 62, of Winnie, Texas passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. She was born on October 27, 1952 in Orange, Texas to the late Charles Stakes and Serena Buchanan Stakes.

Linda was a retired Paralegal and worked as a homemaker. She, more affectionately known as Granda, found her greatest joy in her grandchildren, and was loved by all of their friends. She had a generous spirit and a sense of humor that kept everyone laughing. She had a love for all animals and will be missed by her companions, Manley and Sage.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Christi Silcox of Winnie; sister, Suzanne Greenville and her husband, Steve of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Jace Silcox, Dylan Silcox, and Kelli Silcox; niece, Leslie Herod and her husband, Jason; nephew, Tyler Greenville; great nephews, Corey Ballard and Connor Herod; and great niece, Kinlee Herod; aunts, Virginia Youngblood and Donna Sterling; uncle, Robert Buchanan and his wife, Jackie; and numerous loving cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rufus Kilpatrick, Jr.; and her brother, Wesley Stakes.

Funeral Services will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of the family and friends will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
