Kathryn L. Lowe, 82, of Pittsfield died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, at her home following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Jan. 29, 1921 at Valley City to William W. and Lottie Wade Cook. She married E. Wayne "Butch" Lowe Nov. 8, 1941 in Louisiana, Mo. He survives. Mrs. Lowe was a member of the Pittsfield United Methodist Church, the Madonna Circle, Pittsfield American Legion Post 152 Auxillary and served as membership chairwoman. She was a member of Pike County Dance Club and enjoyed camping, gardening, growing flowers and attending her grandchildren's sports activities. Survivors include five sons, two daughters, 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and two sisters. She was preceded in death by a son, Bingham Lowe, in 1971; an infant daughter, Elizabeth Ann; two brothers, Melvin and Faye Cook; and two sisters, Gladys and Dorothy. Funeral services were, Tuesday, Dec. 23, at 2:30 p.m. at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with the Rev. David Schultz officiating. Friends may call Tuesday after 10 a.m. Burial will at Pittsfield West Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. with family meeting friends from noon-2 p.m. Memorials are to Blessing Hospice of Pike County or the American Cancer Society.
