Jeanette E. Watkins, 84, of Athens, Pa., passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at the Diakon Lutheran Home in Topton, Pa. with her family by her side.
She was born Sept. 3, 1930 in New Albany, Pa., the daughter of the late Wayne O. and Gertrude Terrel Lilley.
Jeanette enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, painting, and crafts. Jeanette was a hairdresser for 40 years.
She is predeceased by her husband John W. Watkins in 2008, grandson Christopher Watkins, and brother Robert Lilley.
Jeanette is survived by her children Jim Watkins of Chemung, N.Y., Scott and CiCi Watkins of Sayre, Pa., Cheryl Watkins of State College, Pa., and Mark and Christine Watkins of Fleetwood, Pa., grandchildren Julie, Jessica, Jenniey, Derek, Carrie, Andy, Allison, Joshua, Bobby, Meghan, and Jay, 19 great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law Ron and Sharon Lilley and Sam and Sally Lilley, sister-in-law Rose Lilley, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends and family may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 19 at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main St., Athens. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 20 at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Flatt from the Calvary Baptist Church officiating.
Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens.
