George E. Belt, 75, of Council Grove, Kansas, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015 at his home. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Community Christian Church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Community Christian Church.

He was born January 26, 1940 in Morris County, KS, the son of Elmer and Opal Williams Belt.

George moved to El Dorado in 1958, where he worked for Brown Groceries and also met the love of his life, Martha McDaniel. They were married on November 7, 1959, in Council Grove.

George was a member of the Council Grove Community Church and Masonic Lodge. He was a salesman for Rainbo Baking Company, owner of "George Drive In Market” and owner of "G&M Auto Parts Store in Strong City, and a District Representative for Curtis Industries. George retired in 2008 as an owner/operator of "Marcors Sales", a parts and tools distributor.

George enjoyed spending time with his loving wife, and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all.

He is survived by his children: son, Todd Belt of Emporia, KS and daughter, Gale Young and her husband Dan of Council Grove, KS; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.. He is also survived by one brother John Belt of Ft. Scott, KS; two sisters, Lola Phillips of Council Grove, KS and Nadine Nester of Nickerson, KS.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Tony Belt; one granddaughter Nicole Belt; and nine brothers and sisters.
