Surrounded by family and prayer, claiming the promises of Ephesians 2:8-10, Thomas "Tommy" Calvin Bryan "completed his earthly list" and passed away to be in his Savior's arms on March 15, 2015. Born August 24, 1938 he grew up in and around the Rockwall area; calling Heath, Texas, home for the majority of his years. Tommy's professional career led him to TXI where he worked for 20 plus years prior to his retirement in 2001. His greater calling however, was to love those that God brought into his life and share God's desire for them to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Tommy's Christian faith began in 1948 with a response to the gospel call at First Baptist Church of Rockwall. Since then, his passion for the Lord led him to serve as a Deacon/Elder, help plant what would become Lake Pointe Church as a founding member, lead lay-renewal retreats and provide Christian counseling during his 67 years of faithful service in following Jesus Christ.

Tommy was a loving friend, brother, husband of 57 years, father, grandfather and great grandfather to those that he preceded into heaven. He was honored to have been accepted into the Smirl family at his marriage to Carolyn in 1958. The entire Smirl family loved him dearly. He is now at rest in paradise and realizing the incredible peace and love of his Heavenly Father, which he shared many times with those whom he desired to share in God's promises.

Tommy is survived by his loving wife Carolyn; his two children, Blake Bryan & wife Cheryl and Brenda Lutz & husband Glenn; five grandchildren, Raschel Ragsdale, Kristen Ferguson, Kyle Bryan, Aaron Lutz and Abbey Lutz, as well as their spouses, Luke Ragsdale, Garrett Ferguson, Lacie Bryan and Bethany Lutz; five great grandchildren, Makena, Dalen, Ryleigh, Breelyn, Addie Jo and soon to be born Evan Thomas, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He also says goodbye to his sole remaining sister who has known him longest, Mary Sue Munchrath & husband Marvin. He was preceded in death by his father, John Albert "T" Bryan, mother, Dona Mae Bryan and brother, John Albert Bryan, Jr. Tommy was also survived by numerous individuals for whom he prayed and desired more than anything that they would be free from the brokenness of earth through the freedom that only Christ can provide. The family continues to hope and pray that Thomas Calvin Bryan's legacy of faith, family and ministry would continue for generations to come.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Lake Pointe Church, 701 E. I-30, Rockwall, TX 75087. Interment will follow in Heath Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Lake Pointe Church Missions Fund.
