Betty was born July 4, 1926 in Donovan, the daughter of Wilbur and Mary McCabe Stallard and they preceded her in death in addition to one brother, Archie Stallard and three sisters, Delors Wernish, Virginia Stallard and Margaret Light. She married Keith R. West on August 28, 1948 in Watseka and he preceded her in death on June 6, 2010.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen (Rodney) Bohlmann of Watseka and Diane (John) Ruch of Bourbonnais; two sons, Shawn West and Stuart West both of Watseka; eleven grandchildren, Nathan Bohlmann, Chad Bohlmann, Faith Caplis, Anthony Bohlmann, John Bohlmann, Julie Shields, Kevin Bohlmann, Courtney Ruch, Jacob Ruch, Jason Longfellow and Jennifer West; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Mrs. West was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Watseka and DAR. She was a longtime election judge in Iroquois County and enjoyed gardening.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 20, 2015 at the Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. Rev. Robert Sabo will officiate. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Lake Twp. Cemetery in Lake Village, IN.
Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at the Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Watseka, Hospice of Kankakee Valley or Alzheimer’s Association.
