Patrick L. “Pat” Stone, 80, of Byron, GA entered into eternal rest on July 6, 2014 after an extended illness. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. The Reverend Bruce Brookshire will officiate. Burial will be private. Contributions can be made in Pat’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Macon, GA, 31201 or American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Boulevard, Suite 1010, Rockville, MD, 20852-3914.

Mr. Stone was born in Macon, GA on May 23, 1934 to the late LeRoy and Mamie Stone. He received his education in the Bibb County School System. He was of the Christian faith. Pat was an avid golfer in his younger years and enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a prior member of the Oak Haven Golf Club. He was also a member of the Smokehouse Hunting Club. He retired from Nash-Finch Corp (formerly Timberlake Grocery Co.). He is preceded in death by one brother, Richard H. Stone, two sisters, Johnnie Caldwell and Betty Markins, and his grandson, Nathan Stone.
