Bertha G. Pearson, born October 30, 1905, passed away March 18, 2005, at age 99, a child of God.
She was born and raised in Ettrick, Wisconsin, and was the eldest of eight children. She was widowed twice within six years. Bertha and Carl, had three children, Shirley Edgecomb, Clifford Pearson, and Linda Stime.
Bertha moved to Marysville, Washington, and quickly became known for her Norwegian cooking skills. Later she became first chief cook at the Holden Village and later at Lutheran Bible Institute. She retired to Deer Park at the age of 73.
Those who called her grandmother number 13; great-grandmother 20; and great-great-grandmother one. Bertha has one surviving sister, Anna Arneson of Ettrick, Wisconsin. Those who new her thank God for her witness and example in Christ-Like living.
Her memorial service was held at Saint Luke's Lutheran Church in Spokane. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m., March 26, 2005, at Anderson Cemetery on Pioneer Highway in Stanwood.
Donations in her memory are welcome at Trinity Lutheran College (LBI) of Issaquah, Washington.
