Robert Carroll Chambliss Resident of San Leandro, CA. 1955 - 2010 Died of cancer at the age of 54, on March 12, 2010 at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, CA. Robert was born in Palo Alto, CA, and attended Mtn. View High School, St Francis High School and Foothill College. Robert was the youngest child of the late H.T. "Pete" and Julia "Beth" Chambliss who lived in Mountain View. He is survived by his family Diane and Andrew Yu of San Leandro, CA, his siblings Karen Chambliss-Abraham of Petaluma, CA, Tom Chambliss of Mtn. View, CA, Margaret Chambliss Carroll of Sunnyvale, CA, John Chambliss of Mtn. View, CA, one niece and several nephews, and one great-niece and two great-nephews. The family wishes to give special thanks to Diane's parents, Charles and Marilyn Hansen of Palo Alto, CA for the loving care they provided Robert. He was a lifelong employee of the semiconductor wafer manufacturing industry working around the country for Raytheon, National Semiconductor, Hyundai and Kodak. Robert had many sports interests, including horse racing, football, baseball, and was the #1 BBQ Chef. With time Robert could train any bird, squirrel, or cat with his kind and loving care. He was a longtime supporter of the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, Greyhound Protection League, and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Donations in his memory may be made to one of these charities. At Robert's request no services will be held.
