Laurie Lynne "Penny" Williams, 60, of Killeen, passed away on March 10, 2015, at a local hospital. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, March 19, 2015, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel, Killeen, followed by interment in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, Killeen.

Laurie was born in Sequin, Texas, to the late Lee Williams Jr. and Clarissa Mays Williams. She went to Killeen High School, graduating in 1972. She then went to Central Texas College and TSTI in Waco. She entered the U.S. Army on March 7, 1978, in Dallas, Texas, and served until July 6, 1981, as a Dental Technician. After leaving the military she began her career in the United States Postal Service in New York. She returned to Killeen in 1992 and began working at the post office on 10th street for six years. Laurie also worked as a taxi driver for several companies with the last being Luxury Cab Company of Killeen, Texas.

Survivors include her companion, Charles White; daughter, Ashley E. Bazemore, of Killeen; sisters: Claire Booker and Gayle Farmer, of Killeen, and Glenda Moore, of Statesboro, GA; brothers, Lee Williams III and Michael Williams, of Killeen; and several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
