He was preceded in death by his parents, Oba and Eula Bryant; and two brothers, Leslie and Charles Bryant.
Harold was a resident of Chatham for the past 13 years, formerly of Springfield. He was a police officer for the City of Springfield Police Department for 22 years and a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion 755, Illinois Police Association, Police Benevolent Association and owner of Swank Motors of Springfield, Ill., for many years.
Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County and the U.S. Army will conduct military honors.
