Edward Leon "Eddie" RUSHING (04/16/1956 - 03/11/2015)
RUSHING, Edward Leon "Eddie" (Age 58) Passed away March 11, 2015 at home in Spokane with his wife Kristy at his side. He was born April 16, 1956 in Chelan, WA to Gordon and Myrtle Rushing. Eddie graduated from Lake Chelan High School where he played baseball, basketball, and football. He went on to attend Eastern Washington University where he studied to be a Recreational Therapist and met Kristy, his wife of 31 years. He later welcomed his two sons, Shane and Kelsey into the world and coached their baseball and basketball teams. As a youth sports coach, he got endless enjoyment out of developing young athletes and making sure that everyone could participate regardless of their financial or family situations. Some of his favorite interests were spending time with his family, sports, wood carving, Gonzaga Basketball, Seahawks Football, coaching, caring for the mentally ill as a Recreational Therapist, and being a large part of his sons' school and activities. He is survived by his wife Kristy Rushing; his sons Shane (Katelyn) Rushing and Kelsey Rushing; grandson Harrison Rushing; mother Myrtle Rushing; sisters Barbara Zeller and Carmen (Del) Denton; brother Dennis (Dayle Sue) Rushing; many nieces and nephews. Graveside Service 3:30PM Monday, March 16, 2015 at Riverside Memorial Park followed by a reception at Heritage Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Spokane Indians Youth Baseball, 800 N. Hamilton St., Suite 201, Spokane, 99202.
