He is survived by his wife, five daughters, one son, three sisters, one brother, sixteen grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: Robert L. Champion and Ruth P. (Formby) Champion; four sisters: Dot Champion, Marie Simpson, Janice Fain and Pat Wilkerson; and one brother, Merle Champion.
