Funeral services for Halley Everett Slead, Jr., 501 Prairie, who died Friday morning, in Kansas City, will be Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the Roberts-Blue Funeral Home. Rev. D.L. Black will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Hartford Cemetery.
Everett Slead was born January 13, 1919 at Hartford. He was the son of Mrs. and Mrs. H.E. Slead, 801 Prairie. Mr. Slead was a freshman at Emporia State College. He graduated from Emporia High School in 1939 and was member of the Emporia unit of the U.S. Naval Communications Reserve. Mr. Slead was a member of the Nazarene church.
Surviving are his parents; his sister, Grace Slead, of the home; and his grandfathers, G. Slead, of Emporia and J.E. Cunningham, of Hartford.
