David died at the home of his son, William at 1502 N. Main St. He was one of the pioneers of McLean County. He married Sarah M. Flock in 1857. Soon after, they came to McLean County and settled in Dale Township.
He was survived by his son and daughter, Mrs. Homer W. Hall; one brother, Louis and one sister, Mrs. Eliza Flock. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
