Obituary of Darlene Fay Stanton
Darlene Fay Stanton, age 89, of Pueblo, Colorado passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020. Darlene was born December 17, 1930.
From a special memorial article for Darlene:

"A special lady and member of our church family is Darlene Stanton. Darlene and her twin sister Arlene were born on December 17, 1930 in Wayne NE. At an early age the family moved to Iowa at which time Darlene spent nine years in a children's hospital to treat some birth defects. Darlene was shunned by her family because of her birth defects and did not get to know her parents to well. she was not introduced to the Lord until her mothers close friend took her in to care for her, after her mother passed away.

Now 29 years old, Darlene started going to church for the first time in her life. They attended Calvary Baptist Church and within a year Darlene accepted the Lord as her Savior and was Baptized. When Darlene decided to be on her own she moved to the east side of Pueblo and transferred her church membership to Park Hill Baptist. another move of resistance took her to Belmont and in 1980 she joined the Belmont Baptist Church.

Through the years Darlene haw been a good servant. She helped with various church activities, Vacation Bible School, church lean-up weekends, Sunday School, etc. She was always there during church meals, helping in the kitchen and clean-up. Volunteered as a librarian for a while and with the church and MWU. The Lord has bless her with a full life. She has been working since she was 12 years old and was still working.

Darlene received 2 years of business education from Pueblo Community college and has worked at various jobs. She worked at a snack bar, clothing store and took care of people in their homes with housework and other chores. Later worked for the Goodwill Industries, (20 years), manager for a year. Music is one activity she enjoys and attributes this interest to her mother's passion. She has been an activist for the National Federation for the Blind for the past 20 years and is still an active member of that organization.

You can't stop this lady. She is a full-time volunteer librarian at Parkview Hospital and works in the Medical Library and Medical Records department - has been for the last 20 years.

Darlene is grateful for all the help and blessings she has received from the Christian friends whom she has met through the Lord. Darlene has always been single and this thus church has been her family and God her "Rock" and "Strength."
