Carroll Purr
BRILLIANT - Carroll "Jack" Purr, 77, of 812 Second St., formerly of Dillonvale, an employee of Ohio Power Co.'s Cardinal Plant before his retirement, died Thursday in East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry.
He was a Methodist by faith and a member of the Bridgeport Eagles.
Surviving are four sons, LaCarr "Dick" of Yorkville, Jack of Michigan, Ronnie of Virginia and Gary of Florida; a brother, Butch of Marietta; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was born Jan. 21, 1912 in Marietta, a son of the late Morgan and Lulu Wyrich Purr. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Purr, in 1981.
Friends may call at the Borkoski Funeral Home in Tiltonsville, 7-9 p.m. Saturday, and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday; services there 10 a.m. Monday, the Rev. Richard Smith; Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
