Tommy Wayne Burgess, 74 of Van Buren passed away Friday, March 13, 2015 in a local hospital.

He was retired financial advisor for Trane Manufacturing in Fort Smith; and a lifelong resident of Crawford County and a graduate of University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, fishing and traveling the county. He was a member of the Massard Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Smith.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sharon Burgess; both parents, Ernest & Laura (Adams) Burgess; one great grandson, Breyden Hinkle.

Funeral service will be at 10 am Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

He is survived by his wife, Jane (Smith) Burgess of the home; one daughter, Angela Carter & husband, Kenneth of Van Buren; one son, Jeffrey Burgess & wife, Susan of Nixa, MO; one step daughter, Kelli Owens & husband, Mark of Spiro, OK; two stepsons, Scott Mosby & wife, Brandy of Van Buren, Jody Mosby of the home; one brother, Johnny Burgess & wife, Edna of Van Buren; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.

Family will visit with relatives and friends Monday, March 16, 2015 from 6-8 PM at Ocker Funeral Home 700 Jefferson Street Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Green, Scott Mosby, Mark Owens, Kenny Carter, Robin LeRoy and Jimmy Lincks.

Honorary pallbearers will be Massard Missionary Baptist Church Members.
