ANDERSON — Hoy L. Flowers, 89, of Anderson, passed away March 12, 2015, at Bethany Pointe Health Campus, Anderson.

He was born Oct. 12, 1925, in Burkesville, Ky., and resided most of his life in Anderson.

He was a retired farmer. He farmed with his son for 40 years. Hoy previously worked at Davis Dairy, Guide Lamp, Charlie Teeters filling station in Lapel and McCord Brothers Trucking.

He was a member of Bethany Christian Church in Anderson. He enjoyed gardening, and spending time with his family.

Hoy is survived by his loving spouse, Helen (Rushton) Flowers, whom he married on June 7, 1947; his son, Gary S. (Brenda) Flowers, Anderson; sister, Golda Poole, Anderson; two grandchildren, Brian (Debbie) Flowers, Monteville, N.J., and Nicole (Chad) Dillon, Brownsburg; three great-grandchildren, Alyssa Flowers, Madison Dillon and Adam Dillon; and special nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by father and mother, Henry and Sarah (Watkins) Flowers; sister, Mary Etta Flowers; brother, Curt Flowers; brother, Joe Flowers; sister, Louella Flowers; brother, Willie Flowers; sister, Opal Davidson; and brother, Danny Ray Flowers.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with James D. Harless, Bob Bell, and Chad Dillon officiating. Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park.
