Funeral Services for Mrs. Valeria A. Smith, age 84 of Cullman, will be held on Friday, August 5, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Good Hope Cemetery, with Rev. Herman Reid officiating.

Mrs. Smith passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at the home of her granddaughter in Birmingham. She was born on June 27, 1927 in Cullman to the late George and Arvilla Millis Mize.
Valeria is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 64 ½ years, Nathan J. Smith; one brother, Arvin Mize and one sister, Sylvia Johnson Reid.
Survivors include her Son – Keith (Shelby) Smith; one Daughter – Angie (Ed) Jochum; two 2 – Granddaughters – Kristie (Randy) Keffer, Nikki (Morris) Mewbourne; one Grandson – Robert Smith; four 4 – Great-Grandchildren – Sarah Earnest, Isaac Smith, Christopher Smith and Kaitlyn Mewbourne; three 3 – Surrogate Grandchildren – Courtney Hayes, Hope Mason and Melea Mason; Caregiver Tonga Hall; one Brother – Marlin (Jane) Mize and a Host of Nieces and Nephews.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, August 4, 2011, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
