Saylor B. Conard and Miss Effie M. Anderson married at the Ninth Avenue United Presbyterian parsonage, by Rev. E. F. Kimmelshue, at 9 p.m. on 11 July 1917. In attendance were close friends and immediate family. Effie was the daughter of Alfred Anderson, south of Monmouth. Saylor was a young farmer near Ormonde, where the couple made their home. A rowdy reception followed a few nights later, at the home of Alfred Anderson. The family later resided at 410 South Fourth in Monmouth for many years.
