Edna M. Sullivan 1922 - 2013 SPRINGFIELD - Edna Mae (Pierce) Sullivan, 91, of Springfield, passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on Wednesday August 7th at Wingate at East Longmeadow. Born in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late John F. and Nellie (Faunce) Pierce. At a young age, her family moved to Springfield where she attended local schools. Edna loved to crochet, babysit her feline grandson Jake and go dancing with her husband at the Elks. She was predeceased by her husband, John V. Sullivan in 1995; her daughter, Terry Jean; her son, James M., her brother and two sisters. She is survived by her son, Richard and his wife Betty of Hampden. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to meet for visitation on Sunday August 11th from 2 - 4 PM at the Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow. Edna's Funeral ceremony will be held on Monday August 12th at 10 AM at the Forastiere Smith funeral home, followed by burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery, Springfield. Over the years, Edna and her husband were involved in raising funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, therefore in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edna's memory to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 220 North Main St., #104, Natick, MA 01760.
