Leonard E. "Lightening" Berry Sr., 93, of Monahans, died Monday, March 9, 2015, at Ward Memorial Hospital in Monahans.

Funeral services are scheduled at 1 p.m. Saturday at Christian Fellowship in Monahans with the Rev. Jimmy Bryant officiating.

Burial with military honors will be at Monahans Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are by Harkey Funeral Home of Monahans.

He was born in Lamar, Ark. He was a veteran and served during World War II.

SURVIVORS Sons, Leonard Eugene Berry Jr. of Dickenson, N.D., and Timothy E. Berry of Celina; daughter, Carolyn Stanustka of Monahans; sister, Joyce Tucker of Davenport, Iowa; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
