Bobbie Jean Allred Danley, lifelong resident of the East Alabama/West Central Georgia area, passed from this earth at home with family in the early morning hours of Sunday, March 8 after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.

Bobbie was born on Saturday, August 14, 1943, to the late Jesse W. Allred and Mary Agnes Campbell Allred. Bobbie was born in Eufaula, Ala., and graduated from Eufaula High School Class of 1961. Upon high school graduation, she attended Massey Business School in Columbus, GA. She was an Executive Secretary to Roy Greene of Farmer’s And Merchants Bank in Phenix City, Ala., and then worked with the Law Firm of Page, Scrantom, Harris, for attorney David Laney. In 1988, she moved to the big city and worked for King & Spalding and various other law firms in the Atlanta Metro area until her retirement in 2010. She will be remembered by her co-workers as a “Lovely Lady” with a beautiful smile.

Bobbie loved spending time with her family, friends, and pets, including horses, cattle dogs and the occasional cat. She was an adventurous person who loved travelling, especially to the beach. She was often busy horseback riding, shooting, fishing, or doing just about anything that got her outdoors. She was an avid reader and loved trying new things and meeting new people. She never met a stranger and will be remembered by all who knew her as a kind and gentle soul.

Bobbie is survived by her brother, Will Allred, of Midland Ga., and his wife, Beth, and their children, Blake and Leslie; her son, Britt Danley, of Columbus, Ga., and his wife, Tannis, and their children, Tristan and Campbell; her daughter, Stephanie Hudson, of Box Springs, GA, and her husband, Scott, and their children, Jordan and Layne. She is also survived by her Aunt Madge Pipkin, of Dothan, Ala., and several cousins and extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 20, 2015, at 2:30 in the afternoon, at the Ida Cason Memorial Chapel at Callaway Gardens, 17800 US Hwy 27, Pine Mountain, GA 31822.

In Lieu of flowers, Bobbie requested that donations be made in her name to Paws Humane, 4900 Milgen Road, Columbus, GA 31907 or to Begin Again Horse Farm, PO Box 242, Hamilton, GA, 31811 to support local animal rescue.
