Geoffrey Charles Ball, born 1914, married Gladys Hilda Whittlesey in Willesden, London NW10 in 1940. He was killed in action on 14 Sept 1942 whilst serving on HMS Coventry.
During its part in 'Operation Agreement' HMS Coventry, with a crew of 400, was damaged east of Tobruk harbour by German JU87 air attack, set on fire, abandoned, and scuttled by HMS Zulu (32-48N 28-17E).
