Son of Roy and Effie Strong Keele.Jimmie Wayne Keele, of Sedalia, died Jan 9, 2008 at University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in Columbia, MO.
He was born Nov 2, 1937, in Sedalia, the son of Roy L and Effie L Strong Keele. On Aug 1, 1959, in Sedalia he was married to Judy B Thomas, who survives of the home.
Mr. Keele was raised and educated in Sedalia and attended Liberty School. He worked on his parent's farm before enlisting in the U.S. Army where he served with the combat engineers. He worked for Pittsburgh Corning, Swifts Poultry and later at Parkhurst Manufacturing, where he worked until his retirement. He was baptized into the Baptist faith at New Hope Baptist Church. He was an avid gardener and was known as the "Tomato Man". He was a sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He enjoyed going to the casinos and playing games of all kinds. He was a big family man and nothing was more important to him than spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years; his five children, Pam Moon and her husband Monte, of Sedalia, David Keele, of Puntagorda, FL, Debbie Jarvis and her husband Clifford, of Sedalia, Sorita Walter and her husband Barry, of Sedalia and Vanessa Plummer and her husband Matthew, of Nazareth, PA; a brother, Roy E Keele, of Sedalia; two sisters, Almeda Wolfe, of Sedalia and Helen Zarnowic, of Florida; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jean Wolfe.
