Freidrich and Johanna were parents of 10 children, two of them died in infancy. They immigrated to the United States in 1859, arriving on October 18th aboard the SS Bremen. One of his grandsons, Oscar served as the Governor of Wisconsin from 1947 - 1951. The Rennebohm grandchildren also founded the Rennebohm Drug Stores (Rexall).

One of his sisters, Sophia Henrietta Rennebohm, (memorial ID #143651278) lived with he and his wife and is buried on Greenwood Cemetery as well.
