Mrs. Harris was born in Richwood, West Virginia on May 30, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Harvey Hobbs and Irene Casto Hobbs. Mrs. Harris was self-employed as a property manager. She was an animal lover (especially her two dogs) and supporter of the S.P.C.A. In her spare time, Mrs. Harris loved football, the beach, playing cards and cooking.
Mrs. Harris was married to Marvin Jesse Harris, who preceded her in death, February 7, 1990.
Mrs. Harris is survived by her children, Ricky and Susan Knowles of Plymouth, N.C., Karen and L. J. Dakos of Chesapeake, Va., Gwyn Knowles of Sayreville, N.J., John Hobbs and Manuel N. Hobbs Bocardo of San Diego, CA., Susan Harris Cole and Ricky Cole of Snow Hill; grandsons, Barry and Mandy Knowles, Brady and Mary Beth Knowles all of Greenville, Hunter Cole of Snow Hill; granddaughter, Channing Cole of Snow Hill; great grandsons, Jamison Knowles and Tanner Knowles both of Greenville; great granddaughter, Adalyn Knowles of Greenville; and sister, Jean Lupton of Jamesville, N.C.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by two sisters, Hope Bryant and Jo Lyle.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and other times at the home.
