Born September 7, 1932 in Memphis, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Marvin E. Ferrer and Vivian Cisco Ferrer. Vivacious, fun and friendly, Jane graduated from Miss Hutchison's School in Memphis, worked in retail and modelled for local businesses. In 1957 she married Bill Leftwich and embarked on a life as a Marine Corps wife, travelling from duty station to duty station, supporting her husband and always making new friends with her southern charm. Jane was a Red Cross Volunteer and a Sunday School teacher. Sadly, Bill was killed in Vietnam in 1970. After several years of widowhood, she married Colonel Richard L. Michael USMC and settled in Annandale, Virginia. Jane continued to raise her two teenage sons, cared for her mother and three dogs as she devoted herself to her friends, family and neighbors. Additionally, she and a friend started a seasonal trunk show which became an annual event for many years. Dick and Jane spent 12 wonderful years together until he passed away in 1985. In 2014, she moved to Falcon's Landing in Leesburg. Jane was a wonderful mother and friend who lived life to the fullest and will be missed by all her many, many friends.
Jane was predeceased by her husband’s William G. Leftwich Jr. and Richard L. Michael Jr., as well as her brother, Jack E. Ferrer.
She is survived by two sons William G. Leftwich III and his wife Tate of Chatham, Virginia and Scott F. Leftwich and his wife Wendy of Brentwood, Tennessee; and six grandchildren, Tate, Elizabeth, Jane, Caroline, Lindsey and Bill IV and other nephews and nieces.
