Lewis Coleman Morgan, Jr.
(October 14, 1925 - March 10, 2015)

MORGAN, Lewis Coleman Jr., went to be with the Lord after a lengthy illness on March 10, 2015. Born on October 14, 1925, in Richmond, Va., he was a resident of Henrico, and worked as a lieutenant with the Richmond City Fire Bureau. Lewis was a WWII veteran serving from 1943 to 1946 aboard the USS Texas, a member of Patterson Avenue Baptist Church, Washington and Henry Lodge #344, A.F.&A.M. and ACCA Temple Shrine, as well as a Past President of Ceremonial Cast.
He enjoyed his summers at Gwynn's Island.
Lewis was predeceased by his first wife, Anne Fox Morgan; and his second wife, Pearl Morgan.
He is survived by his children, Joan M. Jones (Bill) and Lewis C. Morgan III (Mary); sister, Ann Rainey; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; as well as some faithful friends, Bob Blake, John Campbell and Ken Swope.
Friends may visit with family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 13, at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 W. Broad St., with a Masonic service at 7 p.m.
Funeral service in the chapel will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, Fla. 33607.
