William Dickhaut Dies In Hospital
William Charles Dickhaut, 58, of 504 E. Hilborn st., a retired banker and a Lodi resident for about three and one-half years, died yesterday afternoon in a local hospital after an extended illness. Mr. Dickhaut was born Sept. 16, 1899, at Elgin, N.D. After public school at Elgin, he went to the Bismarck Business College. He was married in 1924 and started his career with a bank at Bowdle, S.D. Later he was credit manager for the International-Harvester Co. at Bowdle, and during the 1930's was a bank examiner in that area.
In 1940 he moved to Loveland, Colo., where he operated a credit and collection agency serving two communities. For a short time after coming to Lodi he operated the Palace Cafe on W. Pine st. He was a member of the Methodist Church at Loveland.
The deceased was the husband of Mrs. Edith Dickhaut of Lodi, and the father of Raymond W. Dickhaut, Portland, Ore., Mrs. Mabel Thomas, Seattle, Wash., and Morris Dickhaut, Denver, Colo. Five grandchildren also survive. He was the son of Mrs. Regina Dickhaut of Elgin, ND. and the brother of Henry Dickhaut, Missoula, Mont., and Mrs. Sophie Fischer of Elgin.
